connexions psychotherapy and counselling

Making the decision to seek help through psychotherapy or counselling can feel like a big step. You might have been thinking about it for a long time or other people might have suggested it to you. You might want to come on your own, with a partner or other family members.

It is very important that you feel comfortable with the decision to talk to a therapist and equally important that you feel at ease with the therapist you see.

Psychotherapists and Counsellors should always be accredited with a recognized organization, such as the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

A first appointment will be a chance to assess whether you are in the right place and talking to the right person. Likewise, the therapist should be able to give you an idea of how they might be able to help.

Appointments made with MD Connexions will be arranged at a mutually convenient time and you will not be expected to make a long term, open ended commitment. Regular reviews of progress will always be discussed in the course of therapy.

Fees are charged on an hourly basis, with a sliding scale based on income and circumstances and sessions are arranged by mutual consent depending on the number of people involved and individual need.

Please note that at least 24 hours' notice is requested to cancel an appointment or the full fee is payable.
